England beat Pakistan by 5 wickets in 2nd T20I of 3 match T20 series between two teams. After first game of the series was washed out due to rain, the host comfortably kept their upper hand in the series.
In the batting dominated game, Pakistan set up a total of 195/4. The visitors openers batted explosively as Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman set up 72 runs before England got their first breakthrough. Babar Azam’s got his fifty and along with Mohammad Hafeez, Pakistan got up to the respective total.
Hafeez made 69 runs off 36 balls. His innings included 5 fours and 4 sixes at the strike rate of 191. Adil Rashid was most economical bowler for the England who took 2 of the 4 Pakistan’s wicket that fell in the first innings.
England had a good start as well. Tom Banton and Johnny Bairstow made 20 and 44 runs respectively before spinner Shadab Khan got them out on two consecutive balls. The wickets of openers did not really mattered for England team as they continued hammering Pakistani bowlers. Eoin Morgan made brilliant 66 runs off just 33 balls at the strike rate of perfect 200. His innings included 6 fours and 4 sixes.
All rounder Shadab Khan bowled well as he gave 34 runs and took 3 wickets off his 4 overs. David Malan remained unbeaten until the end as he made 54 runs off 36 balls for England. In the end, England won the game thanks to their brilliant batting form at their home surface. The third match of the series is set to take place on 1st of September between the two sides.
