KKR vs MI: Mumbai has registered their first win in IPL 2020. After losing their first game against CSK, Mumbai has made an excellent comeback and won the game. The margin of 59 runs is huge in T20 cricket and they are topping the IPL 2020 table for a time being.
KKR vs MI: 1st innings:
In the first innings, it was ‘Ro-HITman’ Sharma show as they say it. Alongside de Kock, Rohit Sharma opened for the Mumbai. After his South African counterpart got out for early, Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav, coming to bat at No. 3 made a 90 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket.
Rohit Sharma scored brilliant 80 runs from just 54 deliveries. His innings included 3 fours and 6 sixes at the strike rate of 148. Whereas Suryakumar scored quick 47 runs off 28 balls which included 6 fours and a six.
Youngster Shivam Mavi, pacer who had been absolutely brilliant for India on their U-19 2018 World Cup campaign, took wickets of both openers today.
After the good partnership between Rohit and Suryakmar, Mumbai cruised along with the flow as Shaurabh Tiwary, Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard all contributed as much as they could.
In the end, Mumbai Indians were in the great position of 195/5, just 5 runs shy of 200 runs. Shivam Mavi took 2 wickets and Sunil Narine and Andre Russell took a wicket each.
KKR vs MI: 2nd innings:
The target of 196 proved to be too little too big for Kolkatta Knight Riders. Sunil Narine and Shubman Gill came to open innings for KKR team. Both openers did not rise to the expectations as the duo got out for 7 and 9 runs respectively.
None of the batters really settled for Knight Riders as Mumbai bowlers exposed the batting lineup of KKR team. Fast bowlers Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah and James Pattinson took 2 wickets each among them.
Leg spinner Rahul Chahar took could of wickets as well. Dinesh Kartik scored 30 runs batting at No. 3 but he could not convert it into a big score. He was required to play along and steady innings to get KKR through the score. Unfortunately, it did not happen.
Nitish Rana and Eoin Morgan, batting at No. 4 and 5 respectively tried to commemorate the innings. Nitish and Morgan scored 24 and 16 respectively. Both batsmen could not capitalize on the start they got.
Pat Cummings, who has been expensive on his bowling struck some hard blows on the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah. He hit 4 sixes in a single over of Bumrah. Unfortunately, it came too late for KKR and them losing the game already seemed inevitable.
