Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings to face each other in IPL-2020 opener

The two finalists of 2019 Indian Premier League season are set to face each other in the first game of 2020 season. Mumbai Indians are facing Chennai Super Kings on September 19 in Abu Dhabi, at 6 pm local time(7:45 pm NST). The defending champions, Mumbai would hope to start the 2020 season with a bang beating their fierce competitors Chennai.

According to the schedule; which was released on Sunday, there would be ten double headers. The schedule was only released for round robin stage of the tournament. It was also mentioned that Abu Dhabi would host 20 round robin games while Dubai and Sharjah would host 24 and 12 games respectively.

Dhoni led Chennai team would miss Suresh Raina which is a big blow for franchise themselves. Earlier, 10 members of Chennai including players as well as support staffs were tested positive for COVID-19. Despite the circumstances the tournament is hoped to operate normally and successfully.

Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are two most successful teams of Indian Premier League with 7 trophies(CSK-3,MI-4) is shared between them. The match is always expected to be an even contest as we have seen nail biting finishes over the years between these two teams.
