Nepal Vs Kenya Series: Here Is What You Should Know

| |

Kenya Cricket has requested the Cricket Association of Nepal to send a National team for Nepal vs Kenya Series.

However, the Cricket Association of Nepal hasn’t officially responded to this request. Despite this, CAN is positive for the series.

Kenya is the team which has already played in 5 World cups. They were the best associate side in the early 2000s. However, their cricket is currently in a continuous declining phase.

Due to mismanagement and corruption on the board, Kenya cricket has suffered a lot and there has been continuous fear among Nepali cricket fans that Nepal may follow the path of Kenya.

Kenya is a relatively weaker side than Nepal. Despite that, they’ve got the potential to beat anyone on any given day. They currently play at CWC Challenge League which is 3rd tier of ICC 50-over competition for its members.

There have been speculations that main players like Sandeep Lamicchane, Karan KC, and Sompal Kami may opt out of the series and current vice-captain Rohit Paudel may lead the side.

The series may start on the 3rd week of August. Since Nepal will not play any cricket competition for a while, it would be a great opportunity for younger cricketers to test their skills. Many new and emerging players are expected to get a chance in this series.
