Sandeep Lamichhane’s brilliant form continues in CPL

The Nepali spin sensation performed brilliantly again in the Match 14th of the Carribean Premier League 2020. The youngster took 2 wickets today against his former team Barbados Tridents. He gave away only 16 runs meanwhile bowling 13 dot balls. The Mujeeb-Sandeep partnership which has been vital for Jamaica Tallahwas this season proved worth for the team once again as it did in the last game.

The leggie did not gave boundary for last 52 balls he bowled in the tournament. It was only until the 75 balls, he conceded the boundary. It was almost perfect 3 match steak for him until Mitchell Santner hit him for four in second last ball of his spell.

Rashid Khan came out to bat for Barbados at no. 5 and it was expected Rashid and Sandeep would have contest today. While, Sandeep had other ideas. He got rid of Rashid Khan in the second ball the Afghan King faced off. He continued to trouble the batsman as much he has been doing for pretty much of the tournament.

His second wicket was of Ashley Nurse. He clean bowled Nurse who was trying to heave the googly ball off the ground but missing it completely. Tridents batsman Kyle Mayers scored 85 runs off 59 balls. He too was troubled by Lamichhane early on in the innings. Sandeep’s counterpart Mujeeb Ur Rahman was even more impressive, taking 3 wickets giving only 14 runs in his 4 overs spell.

Apart from the spin duo, the pace bowling department did not worked quite well as expected for the Jamaica team. Andre Russell opted not to play this game which has proven to be setback for the Tallawahs team.
